Teaching Children Miniconference

This mini-conference is held in conjunction with the Kobe JALT chapter.

  • Activities That Work for Children, Katherine Mackay (Pearson Education).
    Children at the elementary level often have short attention spans and retaining their interest can be a challenge for the language teacher. This practical workshop will show how through careful planning and a balanced approach, children can gain the confidence they require to participate fully in the class. A variety of activities, songs and games will be demonstrated.
  • Versatile Card Games, Yukie Kawaguchi.
    Common problems among teachers who teach young learners are running out ideas since children are always look for something new! Instead of spending long time to read a lot of book and preparing material, why don't you think about simple variations of common card games? Common card games work for everyone young to older students and beginners to advanced. A little variation idea will save your time and create more fun in your classroom!
