The Games Teachers Play
Sunday, April 26th, 2009, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Speaker: Heather Fukase
In case you missed March's round-table discussion on elementary English, Nagano ETJ is back with 'Games Teachers Play' for teachers of young learners. This program is scheduled to make a three month, three city tour of Nagano prefecture. The first stop will be held Sunday, April 26th in Matsumoto. The facilitator will be Heather Fukase, Director of Early Childhood Education at Richard's Easy English Schools. The "Games Teachers Play" program will be a jam-packed two hours where Ms. Fukase and other teachers will share fun games. Attendees are encouraged to share games and activities, too. As the new academic year is starting, it is always good to have a few interesting games in reserve to keep students enjoying English.
Ms. Fukase graduated with honors from Monash University in Australia, and also completed a special Monbusho Scholarship at Osaka University of Education. She has been in Japan for 9 years and is is fluent in Japanese. Ms. Fukase teaches students aged 2 to 87 years old and is currently raising two children of her own bilingually. Early on in her teaching career here in Japan, she taught Hoikuen, Kindergarten, elementary and junior high school students in a small village in Fukushima as a participant in the JET Program.
