Suggestopedia accelerates language learning by employing suggestion to free the students' functional reserves. A pure suggestopedic class consists of three phases:

1. the decoding of the material,
2. a concert session,
3. and elaboration.

Suggestopedia as an independent method will be described first and then suggestions will be offered concerning how these ideas could be applied to the participants' classrooms
