Any teachers feel they lack the ability to create ideas and make interesting materials. However, there are simple ways in which this can be overcome. This workshop will begin with a presentation of some recent research on the development of English stories for Japanese pre-school children. Following this there will be a description of the process of constructing games and materials for teaching English to young learners of kindergarten and elementary school age. Participants will learn and practice basic skills in story construction and illustration. The sessions theme will be food so, please bring some old magazines, pizza delivery notices and any other food related pictures to use that day.
