In the past vocabulary has often been a lower priority than grammar, but recently years there has been a realisation of the importance of lexis. This session will deal with the selection of vocabulary items for teaching and activities designed to make this effective and enjoyable. As with all the seminars, there will be reference to learner training. This seminar is part of a series of seminars for Japanese teachers of English at junior and senior high schools offered by The British Council, Osaka. The evening seminars are designed to assist teachers in their day to day teaching and provide practical ideas for adapting communicative methodology to the Japanese junior and senior high school classrooms.
