Sunday, October 6th, 2002, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Speaker: Katherine MacKay and Paul Rosengrave, Pearson Education, Longman ELT
For the next gathering of the Hiroshima ETJ group, presenters from Longman will come and speak about ideas and activities to motivate all levels, from kids to adults. For children's teachers, come and add the latest magical songs and activities to your Bag of Tricks with new and popular children's materials from Longman. And all teachers of adults know that motivation is crucial for successful learning. What techniques should we employ to encourage motivation and maximize learning? Two ways are: to ensure learners talk about what interests them, and to teach language for specific real-world functions. This presentation will explore how to do that using high-interest, relevant content, presented at an appropriate level, and clear, achievable task-based activities.
