Practical and Psychological Aspects of CALL

Eamonn O'Dowd's presentation on computer-assisted language learning (CALL), is a demonstration with commentary (not a workshop),followed by a short lecture on the psychology of computers as a learning tool in language education, with reference to the following:

  1. Use of CALL by the teacher.
  2. Use of CALL for self-study.
  3. Is CALL useful? Psychological aspects of CALL, with reference to motivation and learning.
There will be opportunities for questioning and discussion.
