Two presentations: 1) Effective Communicative Teaching Ideas for All Ability Levels, 2) Textbook Activities: Making Them Work for You

Sunday, May 19th, 2002, 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Speaker: 1) Gerald Williams and Alison Mackenzie, 2) Rebecca Arthur

Two presentations this afternoon:

  1. Effective Communicative Teaching Ideas for All Ability Levels:
The basis for this seminar is that a good classroom activity is effective for all levels. Participants will learn six teaching ideas focusing on effective ways of using group and pair-work in class, in order to keep students on task and to maximize the use of English during the lesson.
  2. Textbook Activities: Making Them Work for You:
In this workshop, Rebecca Arthur will demonstrate a variety of ways to adapt textbook activities to better suit the EFL learners in your classroom. Although based on activities for false beginners, these adaptations are suitable for almost any level.
