Speaker: Nicky Sekino
There are people who do not like to study with textbooks. Do you want to know the reason? The answer is simple. They find textbook study boring. You, as a teacher, may know this boredom of students. And you want to make textbook study fun for them so that they will enjoy the class. Luckily, there is a way to do this. A secret to the success is task-based teaching. This may sound difficult but it is not. In fact, it is easy. Anyone can do it with a few hints. All you need is some intuition.
In this presentation, I will show you how to create a fun class with the textbooks you use. You will first read the textbooks subjectively and apply some imagination. You will create exercises, which can be easy or tough. An important thing is you do not have to aim for entertainment. Your students will enjoy challenges, too.
