JASAL 2017 Annual Conference: Enriching Self-Access Environments

Saturday, December 16th, 2017, 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Speaker: Plenary speaker Garold Murray (Okayama University); Call for papers due September 3rd, 2017

The theme of JASAL 2017 is Enriching Self-Access Environments. Self-access environments need to be carefully designed in order to provide learners with flexibility to explore resources and opportunities for learning. We have a great variety of self-access environments, and many factors influence these. Learner populations and their needs, the availability of financial and human resources, the goals of the institution, and the beliefs of administrators, staff, learning advisors and teachers all influence what is provided in self-access environments. And so this year, we would especially like the presenters to share how they are being creative in enriching their self-access environments with the resources they have.

Call for papers due September 3rd, 2017
JASAL 2017 will bring together practitioners, administrators, and students involved in the field of self-access learning across Japan to share our innovative practices, to learn from each other, and to inspire each other to expand this field in Japanese institutions. This year too, we wish to broaden the participation at the JASAL Annual Conference by encouraging students to present, and to give all presenters the option to present in English or Japanese. Please see the JASAL website for details.
