From Apathy to Autonomy: Student Beliefs and Perceptions of Language Learning

Students' beliefs about themselves as learners, about language learning, and about learning in general, will affect how they perceive our classrooms. By using anecdotes from our own lives and classrooms, we will introduce the concept of value perception enhancement and how to turn apathy into reciprocity through the use of mediating cognitive and affective strategies.
