English Education has been slowly making it's way into Japanese Elementary Schools. First, with one-shot style visits, and now as a one class hour per week subject for 5th and 6th graders. Starting this April the Elementary English program will be undergoing it's first big change since it's inception three years ago: a new textbook. EALT Matt Gilhool will highlight some of what's new in the Hi Friends textbooks, and suggest some activities that can be used in the elementary school classroom, and beyond.
