5-Day TESOL Certificate Course

This 5-Day TESOL Certificate Course is provided by Asian EFL, and is hosted by a community of Filipino English Teachers (CoFET). The course lecturers are Professor Paul Robertson and Professor Rod Ellis.

Course Curriculum:
a) Introduction to TESOL
b) Review of some of the Methodologies
c) 10 Principles of Second Language Acquisition
d) Insights into language acquisition
e) Vocabulary acquisition
f) Assessing students
g) Principles of grammar instruction
h) Teaching young learners effectively
i) Principles of language teaching using VOIPs (phone English)
k) Task-based teaching approaches: theory and practicum
l) Motivation and de-motivation principles
m) Games and game theory
n) Teaching the ESPs (Business English): approaches
o) Psycholinguistic issues in teaching Asian students
p) CELL (Cloud English Language Learning): future approaches
q) Future directions in TESOL teaching

Students who complete the week course have an option to present a written research paper that will qualify them for the 120 hour certificate. Three universities, University Southern Queensland, University New south Wales and South East Missouri State University all offer graduates credit towards their Masters in TESOL courses.
