Distance Learning: A Workshop

Saturday, January 26th, 2002, 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Speaker: John and Paula McAndrew, Siebold University of Nagasaki, and others

The presentation by the Australia Japan Foundation originally planned for January has been unavoidably postponed, and we will have presenter Ruth Cohen here at a later time in 2002. However, in place of her, we will still be discussing distance learning in Australia, but rather with an emphasis on diploma and graduate programmes offered by Macquarie University, based in Sydney.
Macquarie University is an affiliate member of JALT, and has past and current students in the Nagasaki area, including this month's presenters/moderators.
The meeting will be an informal workshop in three parts:

  • About Macquarie University's distance/correspondence courses.
  • Groups analyzing and discussing material from other colleges which are active in and out of Japan.
  • Discussion about whether or not Nagasaki area schools should or could offer their own distance programmes in the future.

Organization: Nagasaki Chapter of the Japan Association for Language Teaching (Nagasaki JALT)

Cost: JALT Members: free
Non-members: no admission charges this month

Venue: Nagasaki Shimin Kaikan

Location: Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan
