Speaker: Beth Wolff, Senshu University Matsudo Junior High School
It's almost time to start a new school year! Do you teach large classes of 20, 30, 40 (or more) students? Let's get them learning and communicating productively! This workshop will share some techniques and activities for managing and teaching large junior high school classes, particularly solo or team-taught Oral Communications (conversation) classes. Workshop participants will experience and share some techniques and lesson strategies that can be used in a variety of contexts, such as grouping students into pairs and small groups, tips for lesson planning and getting to know students, plus some daily classroom routines. New and experienced teachers are welcome, as well as elementary school teachers and ALTs! This hands-on workshop is a repeat of a similar presentation given at ETJ Tokyo in April of 2007.
