Saturday, April 21st, 2007, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Speaker: Kathi Emori, Nagoya Women's University
Students often are building on their explicit knowledge base; however, moving that into the implicit area can be tougher when faced with the same dialogues and classroom work they are usually exposed to. Through drama, meaning-focused learning draws on their explicit knowledge and helps transfer the usage into a more implicit arena for practical usage. In this workshop, drama related activities will be presented for this purpose of meaning-focused learning. The participants will even try their hand at a few of the activities and produce their own skits as a student would in this kind of class.
