Shinshu Research Support Group 3rd Annual Mini Colloquium

Sunday, March 4th, 2007, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Speaker: Theron Muller, Sean Mehmet, Gregory Birch, Geoff Sinha, John Adamson, others

On March 4th 2007 the Shinshu Research Support Group will be holding its 3rd Annual Mini Colloquium in Matsumoto, Japan. At our 2006 mini colloquium more than 20 participants gathered to share their work and give feedback on presentations. A number of these participants were post graduate students, who were able to discuss research interests and gain experience in presentations in a local, supportive setting.

We're going to be repeating the event in 2007 and would like to solicit presentation proposals and invite interested teachers, including post graduate students in TEFL and linguistics to attend. Our objective is to provide a friendly atmosphere in which presenters, including beginners, can share their research or conduct a forum and receive valuable feedback that might not be available at the national level. Presenters hoping to polish a presentation are also welcome to submit.

Presentations will be 40 minutes in length, 20 minutes for presenting and 20 minutes for questions and feedback. There will also be special 20 minute sessions where post graduate students are invited to share recent papers or outline their intended approach to upcoming papers for 10 minutes followed by 10 minutes of audience feedback.

The conference will be held at Shinshu University in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture. For more information or to request a spot as presenter, please contact John Adamson at johnadamson@eltresearch.com.
