The Wireless Ready: Podcasting Education and Mobile Assisted Language Learning conference is being held in association with the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language/Learning Technologies SIG (IATEFL), and is supported by Australian Flexible Learning Framework, JALTCALL, the Bob and Rob Podcast and ELT Calendar. This one-day event considers the role of podcasting and mobile learning devices in foreign language learning. How is podcasting being used in the language classroom? How have mobile learning devices (phones, PDAs, digital music players) promoted autonomous language learning? How are Web 2.0 technologies (wikis, blogs, podcasts) affecting second language acquisition?

Keynote Speakers include: Professor Steve McCarty from Osaka Jogakuin; Professor Michael Vallace from Future Univerity, Hokkaido; and Michael Coghlan, an international e-learning consultant from Australia. Featured parallel session speakers include papers from: Robert Diem, the Bob and Rob English Language Podcast, and Bill Pellowe & Robert Chartrandfrom the ELT Podcast.
