Discourse Across Cultures: Preparing Japanese to Use English as an International Language.

With the dramatic increase is the frequency of use of English in Asia, Japanese are finding it necessary to represent themselves in English. Some refer to this English as Japanese English, while others say it is just one of the many varieties of world Englishes. This presentation will discuss some ways to help Japanese students be better prepared for inter-cultural interaction using English. All welcome for our seventh meeting of the year, co-sponsored by SUN, Siebold University of Nagasaki.
