What do we mean by professionalism? Why is it important to us? How can we ensure that we are 'it'? Even as consultants tell us to create 'elevator speeches' (30 seconds to sum up your 'pitch'), psychologists tell us 90 per cent of sales are won non-verbally within seconds of meeting the sales person. Professionalism is all about personal sales and marketing, for example, our experience (when we look for a job), our ideas (when we need internal buy-in), our credibility (when we manage others). Yet in today's information-overloaded business environment, how can we ensure that our verbal and non-verbal messages are impactful enough to leave an impression? In this highly insightful and interactive session, Victoria Bolam discusses the key triggers of professionalism, their importance, and invites participants to put them to immediate practice during the session. Even seasoned professionals won't regret attending this special journey of self-improvement.

Victoria Bolam, the director of Action Japan, has over 16 years in Japan consulting for such firms as Toyota Corporation affiliates, the BBC, a top-five consulting firm, Japanese government departments, and fortune 500 multinationals operating in Japan. Victoria is also a British Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee member, former vice-chair of the EBC HR Committee, adjunct professor for Temple University, and a published writer with various appearances on Japanese national radio and TV.
