Kanto Junior and Senior High School Teacher Seminar

This is a full day mini-conference sponsored by Tokyo Chapter, West Tokyo Chapter, the Jr./Sr. High School SIG, Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press and the British Council.

Topics and presenters include:

  • Curtis Kelly - Writing: What research teaches us about teaching writing.
  • Chuck Sandy - Projects: Simple projects for big results.
  • Ivan Sorrentino — Learning doesn't stop in the classroom: Helping students help themselves.
  • Richard Walker - Motivation: Enhancing learning though motivation and success-oriented materials.
  • Fergus MacKinnon — The Teaching Knowledge Test: An overview.
  • Adam Murray — Adaptable activities for classes great and small.
  • Carolyn Pieroway — Chants: How I add chants to my classes to motivate students and to supplement other material and language points.
  • William Matheny — Plays: English on the stage, rather than on the page.
  • Martin Nuttal — The Cambridge ESOL KET and PET speaking tests.
