5th Immediate Method Autumn Workshop

What is the Immediate Method? The Immediate Method is a conversation teaching method that was created in Japan to solve typical problems of Japanese classes. Born in the context of French teaching at university (beginner level), the method has just been introduced to the world of English teaching: Junior High-school (beginner level) and university (intermediate level).
What is the Immediate Method Autumn Workshop? It is a two-day seminar that allows participants to be trained in the Immediate Method, and to exchange stories about their teaching experiences with colleagues. The first day is a step-by-step training in the method as a whole; during the second day, practitioners of the Immediate Method give short presentations (30 min.) about their classroom experience. Participants ask questions and contribute suggestions. The method is examined through the prism of many different teaching contexts.

This year will be the fifth annual Immediate Method Autumn Workshop. Proceedings will be published for the first time. The participation fee is minimal (refreshments: 500 yen for one day, 1000 yen for two days). Those who feel they got some valuable training can join the Research Group for Teaching Conversation in Japan. The dates are October 22nd (10:30 – 17:30) and 23rd (10:00 – 17:15).
