This presentation is designed for anyone who uses the aid of a computer to design or deliver presentations, including class lectures and conference presentations. With the advent of the digital revolution, many software companies oversold the notion of "easy" design, ignoring the depth and importance of thinking visually. This has resulted in few of us knowing all that we should know about how to design supporting visuals that communicate a clear, concise, and effective message. As professional trainers and educators we need to give serious thought to both the rhetorical and visual aspects of our presentations and talks. Instead of our messages being lost or diluted due to poor design, our messages will be revealed, and will be stronger and clearer. While exploring multimedia learning theory and fundamental design concepts, Reynolds will talk about connecting and communicating in more effective ways. Attendees will examine techniques that will make them better presenters and lectures and better able to design supporting visual media that make their presentations more engaging, dynamic, and effective.
