EU-Japan Year of People-to-People Exchanges Video Clip Competition Award Ceremony and 2005 British Council Team-Teaching Lesson Plan Competition Award Ceremony

Friday, July 15th, 2005, 6:00 PM - 8:45 PM

Speaker:

Join us for this fun evening of celebrating both students' and teachers' winning works - a unique opportunity to network informally over food and drink and make new acquaintances from different schools and institutions. The evening will begin with the award ceremony for the EU-Japan Year of People-to-People Exchanges Video Clip Competition. This competition was co-financed by the European Commission and organised by the British Council, the Embassy of Ireland and the Goethe Institut. We asked students at Junior and Senior High Schools all over Japan to submit a 3-minute video clip explaining why they wanted to go to a European country. In this ceremony, we will show the winning entries by both the group and individual competitions, and participants will be asked to give their comments. This will be followed by the award ceremony for the British Council's national lesson plan competition for teachers of English. This is an annual competition for participants on the JET Programme to work with their Japanese teachers of English on producing excellent and original lesson plans for team-teaching. Videos of the winning lesson plans being used in the classroom will be shown, and Ministry of Education judges will give their evaluation of the entries. Details about this competition as well as previous winning entries can be found at www.uknow.or.jp/lessonplan. If you are interested in attending this event, please send an email to school-links@britishcouncil.or.jp with your name and name of workplace.
