Two Presentations

Sunday, May 22nd, 2005, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Speaker: Naoko Ogikubo and Mayuka Habbick

  1. English through Movement (10:00 - 12:00)
Movement is recognized as one of life's fundamental activities. Movement can be perceived in our way of thinking, in the fluctuations of our feelings, seen in our interactions with other people and most clearly in the movement of our physical body. Children who have a good control over their 5 senses are better able to express their feelings through movements, and do not appear to be overwhelmed by large inputs of knowledge and information. Also, children who lack co-ordination skills have been seen to experience difficulties with speaking, reading, and writing. In this presentation we will show you a number of activities that use movement and rhythm to show you a whole body approach to teaching and using English which will enhance your student's concentration, increase their confidence and balance control as well as enhance their emotional and physical growth.
  2. Irregular Verb Conjugations Made Easy!! (13:00 - 15:00)
In the second part of today's double presentation, Mayuka will present how to evolve interesting and fun ways of getting through the toughest process - remembering irregular verb conjugations. The presentation will also introduce cool ideas like: how to use Arrow Cards in conjunction with flash cards for things other than flashing. With what is presented both you and your students should never get bored or tired.
