Entrepreneur Association of Tokyo: Metropolis and Japan Today: Past, Present and Future

Tuesday, September 7th, 2004, 6:30 PM - 9:55 PM

Speaker: Mark Devlin

This month's Entrepreneur Association of Tokyo (EA-Tokyo) seminar features Mark Devlin, co-founder of CrissCross KK which publishes Metropolis magazine, and the producer of news site JapanToday. This seminar is an excellent opportunity for anybody who is interested in the person behind two of the most appreciated media for English-speaking community in Japan.

Originally from Scotland, Mark Devlin arrived in Japan in 1989. Tokyo Classified, later renamed as Metropolis, was published together with his wife Mary in 1993. What started as a four-page handout sheet has become the dominant English magazine with 30,000 copies circulated. More than that, together with Japan Today it became the vital connection point for us when we need to broaden our network of friends and associates, to find the latest dining spot, to learn thecultural aspects of Japan, to simply read entertaining stories collected fromthe streets of Tokyo - the list is endless.

Do not miss this chance to touch, feel, and share with him his experience through the years of publication and media vehicle and the vision toward the future.
