Mind maps: Meaning and Form

Mind maps are pictures of language organized in ways which enhance creative thinking and memorization. This presentation will demonstrate practical and easy ways to create an effective Mind map by hand by following the Mind map rules, which the presenter has adapted from The Mindmap Book, by Toni Buzan. Activities that will develop Mind mapping skills and (English) language skills in interactive and learner-centered ways will be introduced to participants. Ways in which methodology and activities can be adapted to a variety of teaching contexts will be discussed. The presenter will use PowerPoint, and handouts of activities will be available.
