The theme of the 2004 conference of the Korea Association of Teachers of English is "English Education from Socio-cultural Perspectives." The Conference Keynote Speakers are James P. Lantolf (Penn State University), Merrill Swain (University of Toronto). The conference Plenary Speakers are Richard Donato (University of Pittsburgh) and Michael Byram (University of Durham).
