Linking Culture Learning with Language Learning

Speaker: Dr. R. Michael Paige, University of Minnesota

Dr. Michael Paige, a leading interculturalist and author of Education for the Intercultural Experience, discussed the following questions: What is "culture"? How is culture related to foreign language learning? Why do we need to incorporate the study of culture with the study of language? How can this be accomplished? The presentation will be in English with simultaneous translation given in Japanese. Dr. R. Michael Paige, Professor of International and Intercultural Education at the University of Minnesota in the USA, is currently a visiting professor at Nagoya University in the Center for the Studies of Higher Education.
