Speaker: British Council Teacher Trainers
These British Council courses are designed to assist teachers in their day to day teaching and provide practical ideas for adopting communicative methodology to the Japanese Junior and Senior high school classrooms. In this course we will look at ways of exploiting textbooks. Not all textbooks teachers use today are designed with communication in mind, or if they are, they often require adapting in order to make them truly communicative. This course will take a practical look at how the teacher can do this. This will include selecting from, adapting, rejecting and supplementing the books you use in your classes. Participants will get the opportunity to adapt a section of a coursebook using the knowledge they have gained from the course and teach the other participants in microteaching situations. Teachers attending all the sessions receive a British Council Certificate at the end of the 5-day course (14 July, 28 July, 11 August, 25 August, 8 September).
