Promoting Cultural Sensitivity and Critical Thinking in English Class (day 2 of 2)

Day 2 examines critical thinking through exercises in critical reading and writing as components of critical thinking. This session allows the participants to review and apply reading and writing principles that require taking a personal stand and supporting it convincingly. Participants are asked to bring a short, 2-page essay when they come to the seminar. The essay should just be a draft that they can work on during the seminar. One possible topic for the essay is, "What do I think is my most important contribution to Japan and to the world as a teacher of English?" Prof. Ada Loredo teachers in the Department of English, Loyola Schools, Ateneo de Manila University.

Cost: 9000 yen for both days, or 5000 yen for 1 day
