Mini-Course for Junior and Senior High School Teachers: Approaches to Lesson Planning (Day 4 of 5 Mondays)

Monday, February 24th, 2003, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Speaker: British Council Teacher Trainers

The British council in Tokyo is pleased to announce the introduction of Mini-courses for teachers of English in the Junior and Senior high schools. These courses will be made up of five evening seminars, held fortnightly during the Winter and Spring Terms. They are designed to assist teachers in their day to day teaching and provide practical ideas for adopting Communicative Methodology to the Japanese Junior and Senior school classrooms. Teachers attending all the sessions receive a British Council Certificate at the end of the course.
About this course:
The lesson plan is the teacher’s road map to the lesson. It gives the teacher a detailed guide of what the target is and how to get there. Over the five sessions, participants will focus on what is involved in planning a lesson, examine the features of a detailed lesson plan, discuss the stages of different types of lessons and examine how to adapt course books in order to make them truly communicative. The course will end with short group demo-lessons and a discussion and analysis of the demonstration. More info at www.uknow.or.jp/bc.
